|
Model 416B Chipper; Dan; Page Farms and Greenhouses; Penfield,
NY, 11/12/07 Before the sale the service was excellent.
I was given a thorough explanation of chipper sizes that fit our
needs. Also, given a tour of manufacturing. No push
from sales, given full attention, all questions answered. The
machine performs as expected. I am completely satisfied
and I'm looking to fill future product needs from Salsco. |
|
|
Model 624PTO Chipper; Robert; Atlantic Diving & Welding Co.;
Brandford, CT, 12/10/07 We found that a Kubota B1700 with
13HP at the PTO does not labor the engine at all. The
chipper performs BETTER than expected! It was the right
choice. |
|
|
Cobra Curber; David; Town of Killingly; Dayville, CT, 10/31/07
I researched different brands on the internet before buying the

completely enclosed engine. It is very impressive
looking as far as the way it is built, the heavy duty frame and
wheels. |
|

(Out of Warranty) at my old course. |
|
|
Model 826 Chipper; Raymond; Little Stixs Firewood; Stamford,
NY, 09/19/07 I liked the idea of being self contained
on the power feed. This lets me move from my 65HP tractor
to the 38HP tractor and not mix hyd. fluid. The
machine performs as expected. It makes my JD1050 light on
the front end even with the loader on it. This 38HP turbo
runs it fine. |
|
|
Greens Roller; David; Quail Creek Country Club; Naples, FL,
09/25/07 We already have two and we're buying two more.
The machine is excellent. We like the new electric start

and strong. |
|
|
Skid Steer Side Dump Bucket; William; William Dexter, LLC;
Georgetown, CT, 08/25/07 In the single application used,
loading of crushed stone and concrete sand into a concrete

expectations. |
|
|
20" Shavings Mill; Mike; Tamarack Hill Trucking; South New
Berlin, NY, 8/20/07 I purchased a 14 yard (20") shavings
mill in January of 2007 to fill a supply void in my sawdust
business. The Salsco mill has met all my expectations
and more. It is ruggedly built, well engineered, and
performs as advertised. It has been a pleasure to
work with the folks at Salsco. Sal has answered all of my
inquiries and technical questions. I would definitely
recommend Salsco to anyone. |
|

Model 624 Chipper; Keith; ME, 5/21/07 This unit exceeds
my expectations.
Union Farm
Equipment and myself questioned if my tractor might be
underpowered. Power is not an issue, you have a great
product. My tractor is a BX2230. |
|
|
Model 627XT Chipper; Philip; Haddam, CT, 6/06/07 Dick,
the sales manager, was very helpful in explaining what I needed.
I have a Chinese made chipper that was inexpensive, but it simply
did not perform. The old adage of you get what you pay for
is very true. The Salsco chipper is a dream to work with,
particularly after the Chinese made unit I had. With its
hydraulic feed and speed control it requires a fraction of the
effort needed to work with my other unit. |
|
|
Model 416B Chipper; Robert; Bob's Tree Service; Joshua Tree,
CA, 5/22/07 I have a Salsco 3 1/2" chipper and I knew this
next step up would be just as good. This machine truly
does "EAT" 4 1/2" wood. It makes another Home-Type 4
1/2" chipper look really 3rd Rate. Thanks |
|
|
Model 608H Chipper; Monroe; OH, 5/17/07 Before the

624PTO Chipper; Sam, Watertown, CT 3/24/07
A couple comments about
the purchase experience regarding my 624 PTO chipper. The
chipper has performed even better than I had hoped that it
would. It was easy to connect it to my Kubota BX2200.
The factory tour and your promise that I would be a satisfied
customer assured me that I was dealing with a reputable
firm. During the tour I got to see the inside of the
machine and how well they are designed and built. The first
time I used the machine I noticed how fast it devours wood and how
smooth it ran sealed the deal. I have no doubt that it will
perform for many trouble free years. It's nice
to see equipment that is designed for long life and ease of
routine maintenance verses the throw-away units so
pervasive in today's society. I had looked at all the other
makes that I could find on the internet before making the visit to
your factory. After checking your unit I decided that it was
what I was looking for. Everyone that I got the chance to
meet at your factory impressed me with the level of
professionalism and knowledge of the product that they
exhibited. Keep up the good work.

Model 616BE Chipper; Bob;
Bob's Tree Service; Joshua Tree, CA 3/24/07
Before the sale, I tried
many other small (3 1/2") chippers. None of them
held-up to my amount of chipping. I am thoroughly
impressed. For a gravity-feed chipper this one eats brush
like nothing I've seen. Thank you.

624; David; Half Mule Express; Milford, NH 11/10/06
I just wanted to drop
you a line telling you how much I like my 624 chipper. I
flipped the knives tonight for the first time. I bought it
at Chappell Tractor in Milford, NH. I run it with my old
'41 9N, Dave and Flip at Chappell's get a kick out of
that.
I do a lot of stone wall clearing and generate lots of 1-3"
material. I have run a bunch of 4 plus inch wood through
it with great results. The 624 has performed perfectly
with zero problems! I bought the Salsco because of
it's workmanship and simplicity.
You built a great product, thank you.

| Model 625NS;
Jim; Nature's Best Inc. Davidsonville, MD 10/09/06
We have owned our 625
NS now for a couple of years and we could not be more pleased
with it's performance. The
versatility allows us to use it substantially more often than
our previous leaf vac/truck loader that was only used during our
leaf removal season. This equates to a much larger return
on our investment and it eliminated the need to purchase
multiple pieces of equipment to do the same amount of quality of
work as we can achieve with a single 625 NS.
The entire ownership experience has been superb. You
have great people making and selling great products and it
shows. Thanks for everything.

| Model 608; Michael; Ripon, CA
09/08/006
I had ordered a Model 608 wood chipper from sales associate
Johanna. Not
only was I given all information I asked for, but it was done in
a manner in which I felt I was doing business with the right
company. When the product arrived and I rolled it off the
pallet, I could tell that your engineers have their act
together, proper thickness of steels, heavy welds where
necessary and a design reminiscent of machinery of old when it
was done right, but with new metallurgy. So many items are
ordered over the internet with less than spectacular
results. Your workers and your investors, be it public or
family have the pride in your product and company that made
America the power house it is today. Workmanship from your
welders, fabricators, engineers, painters should be commended
along with your staff.

NJ 07/05/06
I have recently used
the chipper that I bought in January to chip branches from
pruning a 90 ft Oak on my parent's property and I was
thoroughly satisfied with performance of the chipper. I've
been using the chipper for small jobs such as chipping maintenance
prunings on our ornamental trees, but this was the first chance
that I had to prune one of our large Oaks. The only
suggestion would be to encourage the use of the 16 Hp V-Twin
engine which I purchased because of performance on the larger
limbs seems to warrant extra power. From an engineer's and
a mechanic's viewpoint, I am very impressed with the Salsco
Chipper's performance.

similar product. Well built and easy to operate, great
machine.

| Model 624;
Dann; Fitchburg, MA 03/28/06
I just wanted to
drop you a note and tell you how much I like my Salsco Model
624 gravity feed chipper. I bought this from Padula Bros
in Lunenberg, MA last fall, and have been using it since.
I have a 30 acre parcel in Fitchburg, MA, and use the chipper
for re-claiming land that has been long overgrown farm land, as
well as harvesting hard wood to heat my home in the winter.
In the past I used to pile brush in centralized piles for
burning. I'd burn brush every spring and this would take a
few days just to burn the brush piles. I'd also have to
coordinate this with our city in order to get permission to burn
on that specific day. But now with my Salsco chipper, I can get rid of the brush any
time I want to. I'm also using the wood chips to fill in
ruts in my access roads.
So I wanted to write and tell you how pleased I am with your
chipper. I'm impressed how solid and well built it
is. Thanks again for this quality product.

I recently purchased your 3pt hitch chipper for
my 21hp Kubota tractor from Fosket equipment. I have been
using it for the 3 weeks and must compliment you on this great
piece of equipment. It is doing just what I hoped it
would. I looked at several other units in this price range
and there is no comparison. Your unit is rugged and does
just great with what I use it for.

| Model 627; Paul; Wallingford, CT 06/29/04
I have been meaning to write this letter to you, but due to
my amazement with the product I purchased, I kept waiting to see
if my amazement would fall off. Let me explain.
I spend a lot of time when purchasing a piece of equipment,
performing extensive due diligence by viewing all brands
available given the product I wish to buy. When I decided
to purchase a PTO chipper, I reviewed Bearcat, Woods, Valby, and
Wallenstein, to name a few. I tried to see each unit.
When I came to Salsco, Johanna was my sales rep. She
was knowledgeable, and friendly and did not pressure me at
all. Your factory is clean and all your workers
friendly. I certainly appreciated you meeting me and
showing me the confidence in your product to say that if I
purchased the unit and it did not work as desired, that I could
return it. When I inspected a Salsco 627, I was
impressed. The entire visit to your company was such that
I purchased the 627 on the spot.
Being a first time chipper owner and a relatively new tractor
owner, I had some questions. I could have never imagined
that the owner of the company would give me his cell phone
number to call if I have any problems. Wow, what a safety
net!
Rarely does one purchase a product that
EXCEEDS the expectations
created by a salesperson. The 627 does just
that. Before writing this letter, I thought it was too
good to be true so I kept using it and it continues to work
incredibly. I highly recommend the 627 to anyone seeking
to purchase a manual feed 6 inch chipper.

| Model 818;
Conel; Bridgeport, CT 10/23/03
The Salsco Model 818 is a very rugged machine.
This machine is able to chip brush and large wood better than
any other chipper I've ever used. With the large 18"
diameter wood, the Salsco 818 chips just like it's chipping
small diameter brush. The RPM stays high and it doesn't
seem like it's under any stress at all.
This gives us confidence in the unit's ability to chip even
the large 18" wood. We purchased this unit to chip
18" wood, as our other large chippers showed stress when
chipping large wood. The Salsco 818 performs consistently well and holds the same composure chipping large wood as when
its chipping small brush. There's hardly any bouncing or
vibration.
The feed sensing with auto reverse stops and starts the
machine very well, keeps the engine rpm high, is well timed, and
never has failed.
I like the wide opening design on the exhaust chute. It
doesn't clog at all, even when chipping vines.
When I first got the machine, we took down a huge tree that
was covered in vines. We wouldn't usually think about
putting a tree as covered in vines as that one into a chipper,
even the other 18" chippers I've used couldn't handle this
tree. It would normally take about 1 1/2hrs to do a tree
this size, this covered in vines, but it only took us 40 minutes
with the Salsco chipper. Also, the 818 did not clog or
wrap on either the infeed rolls or the shaft.
With large logs other machines jump and seem to be relieved
when they're done with the log. Like it needs to take a
breath. With a Salsco chipper, it's constant the whole
time. Like if it was chipping brush.
Even very hard wood, oak, maple, it chips with no
problem. Seems to be under no stress. No jumping, no
moving, it keeps its composure throughout.
The machine is very heavily
built, and some might think
because of the weight that it would sink into the ground.
However, because of the wide wheels and the double axle, there
is actually the opposite effect, even compared to much lighter
machines.
